Product Description

Gaviscon Double Action Mint Sachets bring fast, soothing and long lasting relief from heartburn and indigestion. They get to work in two different ways:
1) Neutralising excess stomach acid to help relieve discomfort
2) Forming a protective barrier over the stomach contents to soothe that burning sensation in your chest So, whatever your symptoms of heartburn or indigestion Gaviscon Double Action can help provide fast, soothing relief.
Gaviscon liquid does not contain sugar or gluten. You can take this product if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. Always talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking any medicine during pregnancy. If symptoms are severe or prolonged you should consult a doctor or pharmacist. Always read the label.

Ingredients

Each 10 ml dose contains sodium alginate 500 mg, sodium bicarbonate 213 mg and calcium carbonate 325 mg.

Directions

For oral administration. Adults and children 12 years and over: One to two sachets (10-20 ml) after meals and at bedtime, up to four times per day. Children under 12 years: Should be given only on medical advice.

Safety Warning

Contains Aspartame (E951). If you have phenylketonuria, note that the product is sweetened with aspartame (E951), a source of phenylalanine. Contains carmoisine lake (E122). Warnings: If symptoms persist after 7 days consult your doctor. Each 10 ml (single sachet) dose has a sodium content of 127.25 mg (5.53 mmol). This should be taken into account when a highly restricted salt diet is recommended, e.g. in some cases of congestive cardiac failure and renal impairment. Each 10 ml (single sachet) dose contains 130 mg (3.25 mmol) of calcium. Care needs to be taken in treating patients with hypercalcaemia, nephrocalcinosis and recurrent calcium containing renal calculi. Treatment of children younger than 12 years of age is not generally recommended, except on medical advice. If symptoms do not improve after seven days, the clinical situation should be reviewed. Contains methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218) and propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216) which may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed). Contain sodium and calcium. If you have been advised to follow a diet restricted in either of these salts please consult your doctor before taking this product. Medicines should not be disposed of via household wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist hot to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
